Would running my own online store qualify as retail experience

I am looking to get a job to supplement my familys income. I have applied at alot of retail places but not sure what to put when it asks if I have retail experience. I have an online embroidery boutique www.caryskids.com does that count?.--Answer1:I dont think that qualifies as retail experience because I believe what they mean is if youve worked in a retail environment where there are live customers, complaints, and attitudes involved. However, I would put your experience just in case. It might not be actual retail experience but it is something..--Answer2:Absolutely. When you post your job experience, for the online business, call it Self-Employed.A prospective employer would definately look at self employment positively. A self employed person must be:A Self StarterOrganizedDrivenHard WorkerAll characteristics that any employer would want in their employ. Good Luck. Hope this helps.--Answer3:Absolutely. The definition of "retailer" is someone who sells to the end user, or consumer, of the product. So, you definitely have retail experience which is transferable over from the internet to any other retail endeavor. It is not necessarily "personal" retail experience, but perhaps your potential employer could use someone to expand their business into the internet area. Which, after all, is the coming thing. Your experience may prove to be a gold mine for them!.--Answer4:~~Absolutely. Running a business whether at a brick and mortar store or on the internet is all the same. List what you have for experience and put it on your resume. You just want to be careful of conflict of interest, if you are still operating your online business.~~
