Is starting a business and a company the same thing

i want to start a fashion line business and is wondering what should i do to start this business? should i start a company? what are the steps i need to do? Answer1:check this out,http://Acme-People-Search.com/signup.php... Answer2:You should go to sba.gov They have an online business planner. They walk you through making a business plan. They really have a ton of info on there that will give you a whole different view of starting your own business. You can choose a number of ways to become a company - you can incorporate, be a sole ownership, be a partnership etc etc. Most do require an atty to get the papers right and filed. Not too expensive though. SBA is supposed to be for small businesses but we found when we were looking at loans last year that their small business is not our idea of a small business and most of the SBA loans are 100,000 or more. You have to have good credit and equity in the business or other equity to insure the loan.So I wouldnt count on them for a loan.. but they do have great info on there for forming your own company and starting a small business. We have a small business and some of the things that we found that are very important is:--Having a good bookkeeping program - we use QuickBooks Pro. --Have an accountant for end of year or quarterly taxes.--Market constantly. There are tons of books in the library and book stores - on Amazon, www.alibris.com etc that you can buy to learn ideas abt marketing. --Plan to work more hrs than you would at a regular job.--Try to keep insured for liability at least.
