What is your business doing to stay afloat/profitable during this bad economic time? Im looking for alternatives to layoffs. Answer1:There have been some layoffs where I work and I think that they may be cutting some people down to part time. I fear they may want to cut my pay but would be apt to accept that given the circumstances and the sparse job market where I am.Also there were no holiday bonuses this year. Answer2:Love your question if you are an employer and contemplating NOT have to lay people off ~ wonderful.Depending upon the type of business you are in (hard to say without specifics) . . . however, think basics . . . what is it that we (your business) can do that may be different than in the past that actually services some real needs of people ~ from that place of basics. How can I (your business) show up in our particular industry selling or providing similar services that others do as well differently than my competitors. How could I service people differently ? Have I asked my clientele/customers what theyd like to see coming from my business that they dont see now ? Have I asked my employees what ideas or thoughts they have of something we could do that we are not doing now that theyve heard people ask for ? Is there another or different product line that is associated with what Im doing now that would be a unique add-on to our business? Many questions :):) Answer3:Get back to basics. Cut unnecessary expenses and market your business while others are cutting back, view this as a time of opportunity. Answer4:~~We cut everything to the bare bones. Then still had to lay off. Dont know yet if business will pick up enough in time to save our companies.~
