I have been remodeling in the past 4 years without a license. I have a lot of experience today and I am looking to obtain a handyman license to avoid any risks in the future. If you mean a Contractors license you should check with the state contractors license bureau. They may have other names depending on the state..--Answer3:my peer is correct. To be JUST a handyman requires onlya business license and GREATLY limits what you can do.If you, however, attend contractors school for plumbing, carpentry,electricity or whatever is involved in the applicable tests, you can earn a lot more money and be certified by your state.Luck!
