hi, me and my partner were thinking of opening a beauty salon , se currently works from home and drives to peoples houses to do there treatments and has built up a regular client baseshe now wants to expand and open her own salon but im not sure if its a good idea in the current economic situation has anyone tried to open this type of salon who can help with some advice, and does anyone know what the turnover is for a salon?any help would be greatly received thanks.--Answer1:you have to look at your area and see where the need is. currently shes driving to her clients and working in their homes---would they be willing to drive to her if she were in a stationary location? Also would she have to charge them more than she is currently charging them to cover her overhead and would they be willing to pay it?Also she would not be the only beautician in her salon, she would have spaces that she would lease out to other beauticians and having a salon she could also offer other services that she cant offer going to peoples homes. (manicures, for example)If she has a good solid business plan and if she has a good head for business or can hire someone who has a good head for business to manage her salon then she should have no problem opening her salon and being a success.
