My furniture and belongings are being auctioned off next week because of failure to pay. Ive tried to pay them back but could not afford to pay the entire amount and they are merciless about the situation. I was thinking to go on the auction date and try to bid for my things and hopefully win the bid. How do these things work? Anyone ever been in this situation? My storage unit is 10X15, I have coffe table, bed frame, tv, clothing, luggage, basically a lot of things that im not ready to let go off, without at least sorting through them..--Answer1:I have worked in self storage for 4 years and they have you sign in as soon as you come in.You may want to send a friend or family member to bid, because they dont allow delinquent tenants to bid on the units.You wont be able to touch anything in the space, the only u can do is look at it and they begin the bidding around 10 dollars.If the person who wins your unit wants to provide u with the personal affects then they will , but they are not required to.Storage companies will have no problem selling the items if they think they can make more than what u owe.
