What39;s some great advice for opening up a business

I want to open one myself, a restaurant. I know they typically fail within the first year, but this is what I want and have set my mind to. I would plan out every detail too. I also dont know the first thing about running a business so thats why Im taking some college classes about business and management this fall. Any advice?
Answer1:Location location locationAnd manage your finances, do not let them manage you.
Answer2:Restaurants are arguably the toughest business model to keep successful ... but If done exceptionally well can work out great! (1) get experience and work in a restaurant before opening one (2) location location location (lost of traffic - 1st or 2nd tier location) (3) keep it cozy, people enjoy this not some big open space! (4) great cuisine always fresh and healthy and Yummy! (5) Treat the customer like king and employee pretty much the same! (6) WORK YOUR BUTT OFF TO KEEP IT RUNNING (7) (8) (9) (10)(11)(12) RELAX AND GOOD LUCK!
Answer3:Sober attitude.Start small, control expenses, get out a good product, advertise, network. Be prepared to the possibility that the business may fail within the first 3 months even.Youll be doing all the work, be the first one to open the shop and the last one to leave, from the cleaning to the cooking, to the accounting, to the shopping. You wont have many hours of sleep and NO DAYS OFF.You have to get a license (pay) for everything and probably have to pay extra staff like cook, cook helpers, waiters. You will need to have a kitchen fully equipped and up to health and safety standards. It can be a little dingy pizzeria in a poor neighborhood or a high end restaurant on main street, but the truth remains that restaurants are a very demanding business and that is why you need a sober attitude.
