Curious to see if there are any official laws regarding what CANT be sold at a yard sale. Can the law dictate what you can or cant sell? The Consumer Product Safety Commission has a new law taking effect in August 2009, but will be retroactive to Feb 10th, 2009. So, beginning on that date, there will be strict regulations regarding lead content on ANY product designed for use by someone aged 12 or under. These laws lower the amount of lead by half or more. So, can people no longer sell these items at yard sales? What about clothing manufactured before then? What about vintage / collectable toys?and YES, I know that laws would be impossible to enforce, since there are millions of yard sales every year!!! I just want to know if those laws actually apply!
Answer1:That law does not apply to yard sales, flea markets, or second hand stores.
Answer2:lol...just big government trying to stop grandma from selling her old TV
