I have been selling on Ebay since 2005. I have only had two people not pay for their items out of over 500 sales. The first, never paid, never responded. I left negative feedback saying exactly that. Same situation just happened. I sold a wedding gown for $298 and they never paid and did not respond. Ebay closed the case after 8 days saying that I closed it. I never closed the case....I wanted my money. They will now NOT credit me for final value, much less the listing fees and to top it all off. The only option I have for feedback is Positive??? I do not understand. I usually pay $65-75 a month in Ebay selling fees due to the price of my items. Granted I do not sell tons..only a handful a month but they are all at least $250 sales. Why would Ebay not want a seller to inform the rest of the community that not only did this person not pay, but did not even have the courtesy to say that they were unable to complete the transaction. I do not get it. Buyers can say whatever they want and can almost always get a refund even if they are wrong (ex: Sold a new gown...she wanted refund...I said ok, as long as returned in same condition.....she returned it clearly used (self tanning marks on inside of dress)....PayPal still made me refund even though they clearly bought to use and return) She leaves me negative and that is ok........I guess I just do not understand why they would want to screw sellers like this when we give them almost all of their money!
      Answer1:to answer your question short and sweet: FOR EBAYs PROFIT. and to keep bad buyers on there to make business for ebay.how do i know this ive been selling since 2003. and ever since they started there "New RULE about feedback" alot of my items sell BUT no one pays and buyer falls off the face of the earth. i contact ebay nothing they can do but open a case and close it in 8 days. and no credit. i asked them why they would do this bc its not fair at all ive been a loyal seller and buyer for many years and this is not fair at all. they dont care they just told me to its to give bad buyers a chance. REALLY? sounded like B.S to me to make that extra profit for ebay. Once my last few listing are done with im never going to ebay again.Ive brought them tons of buiness and signed on people to ebay when friends and family didnt really get how ebay worked i helped them. But does Ebay cut us some slack NO WAY. its all about PROFIT for them.
