I work at a car dealership and we are undergoing massive renovation while business is slow. We are staying open during construction. There is lots of noise and dust. The mechanics have to wear dust masks and ear protection. Is this legal? Should I contact OSHA?
      Answer1:well, the first thing you need to do is to contact the owner of this company and tell them whats going on., if the owner doesnt take any actions, then you go from there.. I believe the work place should be safe for everyone..good luck!!.
      Answer2:Contact OSHA. If they agree, all they can do is shut down the dealer until construction is complete, and you will be out of a paycheck for the entire time. Deal with it, get a dust mask and ear protection.If the company bought you both, you should count your blessings that your boss is thinking of your best interests.
