How can sellers be scammed

im going to sell some books that I no longer need an they are pretty expensive (over 100) how can I protect myself against people claiming to not get the merchandise or that I sent no what they bought? or am i just paranoid?
Answer1:when you send it, make sure you get a confirmation number from the post office. that way you can confirm when the package was signed for. (its only a dollar to a few dollars more)
Answer2:Easy to scam anyone if you know what you are doingDepends how you are selling. If through a site or posting to anyone then get proof of sending the item. Otherwise a receipt of some sort is a good idea
Answer3:Everyone can get scammed As long as you send it you cant be blamed for it not getting there.
Answer4:there is no such thing as being paranoid when being a seller...this is your merchandise and if you get riped off, it comes out of your pocket..when selling online: make shure to describe the books exactly! if there are watermarks, folded pages, or even missing pages, put it in the description, if you dont, the buyer will have a argument and want his money back, so dont sugar cough itpaypal. no mealing checks, or money order...then the buyer can say you riped him off and want his "money" back. Paypal makes shure the money is in your account, then you can ship itUPS/POS track number!: with this, you have proff that you did in fact mail it in case the buyer never "re-sieves" his merchandise...and if lost, you can take it up with the UPS and they are the responsible ones, not you or the buyerhaving 2 stores and started to sell online recently, you get the picture that retail selling and online selling is like night and day...you never know whos on the other side of the screen..so take every precautiongood luck
