Help being sued by sub contractors
Answer1:They can sue you and then they can file liens against your home if the work was done on your house or your business if this is something else. They then will have to be paid before you sell whatever property the lien is issued against. You can sue the contractor and depending on what is being said you can sue for damages unless what they are saying is true.
Answer2:Hi there. Im sorry to hear that... unfrotunately there are a lot of dishonest people in this world... rather than these guys sueing you, they need to take their subcontractor to court for fraud. Dont worry though, you have all the documents so you will be proved right.Depending on what they have said, and how they have affected your customers, you may be able to take a case out on the grounds of liable, and claim compensation. In fact, I would look into a no-win-no-fee compensation company. If they believe you have a strong case, theyll take it on for free and you neednt risk the legal costs of the case being thrown out of court without you getting any compensation. If this is not possible, I suggest you contact a lawyer for an initial meeting and discuss the strength of your case and likely compensation levels with him/her. Some lawyers will do this very cheaply in order to get more business. However, having said that, I would attempt to claim back your legal costs from the other side, and then simply leave it at that. To take legal action would take months, and cause more stress. Do you really want a further case hanging over your head? Good luck, either way.
Answer3:hi,as long as you did not sign any contract with the subs your not responsible to pay them.you only need to pay the contractor who hired them. it,s his problem not yours. as for the slander. i suggest you follow (nothing better to do)advice.he sounds like he ,s been there done that. good luck and make copys of all your documents dont give originals to any one..
Answer4:I would consult an attorney and sue them. This is one case you do not have to worry about. They are suing the wrong person. They should be suing their employer and you need to sue them for slander.Keep detailed records of what they are doing. You may also want to file a restraining order against them.
