How do you tell your boss your not being paid enough

i am 16 and i work at a local cafe. i have been working there for 9 months, and im still on the introductory rate. i am working 4-5 hrs, washing dishes, helping prepare food, sweeping & mopping, serving customers, and helping clean up and pack things away at the end of the day. how do i tell my boss that im not being paid enough, without sounding......?
Answer1:Sometimes the time gets away from you and you dont realize how much has passed. It may be that your boss hasnt realized that youve been there that long. Just say something like "Ive been here 9 months now and done a good job. When can I expect an increase from the introductory rate?"
Answer2:I would first ask if they give reviews to all employees. Then go on to tell them, you would love to have a review because you believe you have worked extra hard (explain how) and you feel you are well deserving of a raise.
Answer3:Show him what other jobs like that pay so he can see what you are worth. If he doesnt come up with the money start looking for the higher paid jobs. Explain how much you have improved in the time you have been there so why you are worth more than someone he could hire today.
Answer4:You need to back your view up with numbers. If you applied elsewhere for a similar job would they offer you more money? In this economy would someone else be willing to take your job for the same money? I suggest, like the first responder did, to talking to your boss and say something like "Can you please give me some feedback on how I am doing and let him respond and if it is positive feedback, then say "When is my compensation review due?"
Answer5:This might sound hard but you need to PROVE you are worth more money, that you are paying for yourself in increased sales, that you are selling more (like simply asking "fries/whatever with that?" Your boss can probably find DOZENS of people to replace you unless you can do something that most of them cannot or will not do or can position yourself in some very special way that most of your own competitors cannot or will not.Make more money for the employer, or make their life VASTLY easier, strive for EXCELLENCE in EVERYTHING you do.There are many things you can do to make you INDISPENSABLE to them so they do not want to lose you!Another word for it is MARKETING yourself. Get used to it if you want to make more money wherever you work. There are THOUSANDS of WHINERS out there just doing their basic job or LESS and complaining about their wages. You do that and they still do not appreciate you then you can move on and will be MUCH more valuable to the next employer.I know what Im talking about here so listen up!Dont be greedy as so many are. Give as much as you can back. Also, the industry you are working in pays low to begin with and maybe cannot afford more. They might be barely getting by themselves, you never know, so just do GREAT work, enjoy it while youre there and look for something else.Blessings.
