I have recently began selling a lot of stuff on ebay. I have been scammed a few times for items that cost 10 dollars. My question basically is, can some one send me back an item and replace it with lets say a rock and return it? for example someone bought a gold chain from me for 600 dollars. i tracked it and insured it. when they receive it, what is to stop them from sending me a silver chain back with tracking and insurance and say they returned it? i mean the tracking will show he sent it and i got it. i have sold many things for the same value or more. the little scams that have happen to me are for things i sell for $10. i can not track them because it would not be worth it. it would cost me 6 dollars to track it. i cant ask the buyer to pay for it because my competitors charge the same 10 bucks with free shipping. im more concerned with the big frauds and how to protect my self
Answer1:You cannot avoid being scammed by some silly person who has nothing better to do but scam people. Even e-commerce businesses cannot entirely avoid a cheater who doesnt read the rules.Im sure eBay has pilicies on refunds and similar you can look into.anyway see how it goes and if it gets nowhere keep your ebay account but just dont sell. Even better add your ebay listing to another site like;www.sellit-right.comwww.ebid.netwww.craigslist.org
